Is it accurate to classify emotional abuse as an Adverse Childhood Experience, or ACE? ACEs are defined as potentially traumatic events that occur during childhood and can have long-lasting negative impacts on a person's health and well-being. While physical abuse is commonly recognized as an ACE, emotional abuse can also have severe and lasting effects on children, including mental health issues, low self-esteem, and difficulties forming healthy relationships. Therefore, it seems reasonable to consider emotional abuse as an ACE, given its potential to cause harm and lasting impact on a child's development. Would you agree with this assessment?
